Well, hello there November! Nice to see you again. From what I can tell from Instagram, November is when all the magical holiday feelings begin! With the debut of the new Starbucks holiday cups, Christmas aisles in the store, even cooler temps, and holiday planning, it’s no wonder this is everyone’s favorite. It’s definitely my favorite time of year, and it’s really hard to believe it’s already time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas! This year flew by!
Saying “Hello” to November means it’s time for another Currently! Anne and I love reading through your Currently posts each month, because it lets us in on the little things that are going on in your life that you might not usually share. We hope you’ll join us!
COOKING| Italian Wedding Soup is one of my favorite cool-weather soups for a few different reasons–the shopping list is short, it’s super easy, and it’s filling! Lamar and I have both been a little sickly lately, and when I’m sick I only crave soup. It’s just so comforting! Read my recipe here, and enjoy!
PLANNING | Flowers, flowers, flowers! This month I have three weddings, a styled shoot with a dear friend, and traveling to Florida for Thanksgiving with my fam. Whew! It’s going to be another whirlwind month, but I’m going to savor each moment of my final fall weddings of the season. My first floral design season has been such a blessing, and I’ve learned a lot! Things will pick back up in March, so I’m going to enjoy this little flower break and will spend most of my time with friends, family, and planning ahead so I’m not running around like a crazy person during the next wedding season.
SMELLING | Whitney from Good Word Candles kindly sent me over two of her delicious-smelling candles! The “fall harvest” scent is my absolute favorite, so naturally I can’t stop lighting it. There’s something about candles in the fall that make me feel so cozy!
APPRECIATING | I know I should be thankful for these people often, but the other day I got to thinking about the people in my life that take care of me so well. There’s a list of four or five people in my life that constantly give love, favors, and sweet words without me asking or insinuating that I need it. The biggest one is Lamar. He helps me out so much, especially with these flowers. Money stresses me out, I’m going to be honest, and the other day I was stressin’ and he said, “Give it to me, let me help”. Just like that, he took the most stressful part of flowers away from me. I thought that gesture was such a pure reflection of God’s love. I’m thankful for these people–especially Lamar. Oh, and I couldn’t help but include a photo of our Halloween costumes above. I was a crazy cat lady, and he is my favorite cat!
ANTICIPATING | The holidays! Thanksgiving is such a special time for me and my family. I have such a large family (I’m one of 5), and it is rare that all of us are under the same roof. So for the entire week of Thanksgiving, we go out of town. We switch back and forth between the beach and the mountains, and this year we are going to the beach! I’m looking forward to lots of fun with my parents, siblings, nephew, aunts, uncle, and nana,…it’s going to be fun! I’m thankful for sweet friends swooping into town to house-sit for us and take care of our precious kitties. 🙂
